We'll
break down and analyze videos and television from some of
the most successful outdoor production companies in the industry
and discover why they are truly as successful as they are.
Find out how a good quality video camera and editing skill
can give you the opportunity to hunt some of the best ground
in the world. Learn how to shoot video in the field and find
out what could make your footage worth hundreds of dollars,
and air on national television.
We'll have a hands-on crash course in hunting set-ups
with the camera, what tree-stand set-ups work and what ones
don't. We'll prepare you for shooting video in
the field by simulating actual hunting scenarios that you
will be tested on in the written exam. Be a part of the most
in depth outdoor production class of its kind and take a big
step toward starting your career in the outdoors.
..about our next rack focus session..
[we teach you how to hunt...with a camera]
Our next course will be held at the Rack Focus Post Studio in Midland, MI.
Our classes have always been intensely focused on what the Professional Field
Producer needs to know when in the field. We are looking for Students
with at least one year of Production in the field and some knowledge of manual
camera operation. While it isn't imperative to bring a camera with you,
it is highly encouraged so you can get more familiar with what you'll be using
this fall.
This course is also great for the Television Producers who are looking to
improve the content and storytelling ability of their Field Producers. A
Show is only as good as the people running the
camera. We go through the
process of building shot sheets before the hunt and time-coding the footage
after the hunt is over...a process any Producer will love. We also will
touch on a lot of the new camera tricks and techniques currently being
used in not only the Outdoor Industry, but the Production Industry in
general. We have always said, if you want to find the new and current
trends in Production...don't look at the Outdoor Television Industry, with a few
shows being the exception. There is no better way to make your show look like a high-end production than to enroll a few of your Prostaff into the RF School.
We will spend one day in the studio going over every small detail, setting,
audio trick, interview technique and everything in-between our Staff has used
as field producers and Television Producers. You'll also get an inside
and behind the scenes look at the Rack Focus Post Production Studio in the
midst of our busiest time of the year, as we push out four 3rd quarter shows for
the Television Networks. You'll be able to spend time working in any one of our five edit bays in the evenings.
We'll spend two days in the field addressing multiple field production set-ups
on a 4000 Acre Paradise in the hardwoods and creek bottoms of Northern
Michigan. Students will work in teams in a competitive field
production contest meant to simulate real in-the-field whitetail and turkey
hunting situations. The "Own the Zone" cameras
(www.myoutdoorzone.com) will also be rolling footage for a segment to be aired
during our second season of the TV Series for the Fall of '09 and our own new
Series called "The Post".
Part of what has made our school a success over the last four years has been
the limited number of spots that we offer to ensure the hands-on and one-on-one
type of training we are known for. Rack Focus will give you every
opportunity to grow yourself as a Field Producer, while networking with contacts
within the industry that can help you get to the next level.
Class Dates are August 22-24. Cost is $950 per person
which includes food during school hours, detailed course packet, Rack Focus shirt, hat and decal as
well as a Course Certification Diploma. If you are interested, contact us right
away as we already have three spots booked of the 10 available, so sign up NOW! WATCH VIDEOS from our past schools.
