Four TELLY Awards for Jack Pine Productions, Inc.
July 25, 2008- Press Release

MIDLAND, Michigan (July 20, 2008)- It has been announced that Midland-based Television Production company, Jack Pine Productions, Inc., has received four Telly Awards for Outdoor Television and DVD Production work submitted from 2007. The Telly is recognized widely as the premier award that honors outstanding local, regional and cable television programs, commercials, video and film productions. In the 2008 competition, over 14,000 entries were submitted for 50 states and 30 countries.telly_bronze.gif

Jack Pine Productions, Inc. received two Silver TELLY Awards and two Bronze Telly's in this year's competition. The Silver TELLY is the highest award an entry can receive from this highly respected competition. The awards are judged based on content withing the show such as Audio Mixing, Shot Composition, Story Telling, Editing and overall quality. A Silver and a Bronze TELLY was awarded for the Outdoor Television Series, The American Outdoorsman, which is seen by over 75 million Cable and satellite households each week. Jack Pine submitted "North to British Columbia" and "Austria Adrenalin" to gain the recognition. Jack Pine handles the Post-Production work for The American Outdoorsman, which is based out of Kansas City, MO.

Last year, Jack Pine formed a new division within the company specifically dedicated to Outdoor Production. "When we started to add on television partners at a very high rate, we decided to develop Rack Focus Post as a new division to Jack Pine Productions, so we could have separate identities, but we're still the same company with the same beliefs. We have also added two new editors over the past year, which to me may be the most exciting part of all. To be able to employ qualified workers in today's economy makes me feel pretty good."

Jack Pine's post-production work with Heartland Bowhunter was also recognized with two TELLY's. A Silver TELLY was given for its work on the Heartland Bowhunter DVD release, "Arrows Unleashed S.1", a series dedicated to spring turkey hunting with a bow. The Bronze TELLY was given for the HBTV Online Series produced specifically for the Heartland Bowhunter website. The show that won the award, "Blood Trail", documents the relationships of the HB Prostaff and their family members and how the Outdoor Lifestyle plays a huge role in all of their lives. Heartland Bowhunter Television is now airing nation-wide on Direct TV and receiving many praises from TV viewers and many companies throughout the Outdoor World.

"Winning these awards really just compliments the people we have here working on the shows as much as the people who are shooting them in the field", says owner of Jack Pine Productions, Jason Brown. "We are really trying to align ourselves companies that we believe in and who we think can bring out the best in us from a production perspective, and I think we are definitely accomplishing that."

Along with Heartland Bowhunter and The American Outdoorsman, Jack Pine Produces A-Way Outdoor Television (which recently received a Sportsman Channel Award in Las Vegas for outstanding Audio Mixing) Own the Zone TV and does Post work for Midlander, Mike Avery's Fishing 411 with Mark Romanack TV Show. "We're really starting to get put on the map in our niche market of Outdoor Television, but we still continue to push each day to put out the quality work we have built our reputation with."

Late March Scouting Trip

April 1, 2008- Appanoose Co. ,IA
-Preston Bovee

The fall bow season starts now. Long time hunting/video buddy, Al Pope and I made our way to Iowa to scout some property that we've recently received permission to bowhunt. The ten hour drive one way consumed the majority of our three day trip, but by pulling an all nighter to make the drive out there we gained the time we needed to scout the property. The trip was well worth the effort. We found lots of great deer sign and learned the structure of the property. We never stumbled upon a shed but we did see several trophy buck rubs. Being from MI we take every oppurtunity we have to increase our odds for our out of state hunts. We've never hunted Iowa before but this year we're geared to go.

A Visit to The Big Apple
March 17, 2008- New York City, NY
-Preston Bovee

This last weekend my wife and I took a road trip out to NYC. Being my first time to the city I had a few objectives in mind. First to visit B&H, the video superstore, and second to visit at least one of the three Apple stores. B&H was pretty impressive, with lots of knowledgeable staff waiting to answer any questions, and almost any thing you can think of that relates to video, available to get your hands on. The Apple store on 5th Avenue is a sight to see. You're greeted with a giant glass entrance and a circular staircase that leads you to the underground Apple paradise. All the latest gadgets were on display, from the MacBook Air to the complete line of iPods, they had it all. In our short two day visit we were also able to to check some of the popular tourist destinations like The Empire State Building, Times Square, and Central Park just to name a few. Overall it was a nice trip. It's no place I'd want to live but a nice place to visit nonetheless.

Rack Focus Post Receives TSC Award
Feb. 2, 2008 - Las Vegas, Nevada
-Jason Brown

It was a great weekend for us at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas. Besides making a ton of contacts and TSC_Awards_Pic.jpegmeeting with a lot of our friends in the Outdoor Industry, we walked away with "Best Audio Mixing" for our work on A-Way Outdoors at the Annual Sportsman Channel Producer Awards at The House of Blues inside of Mandalay Bay in Vegas.

Benelli marketing front-man Tom Knapp was the MC of the Producer Awards, which have a total of 20 award categories. It was really nice to receive recognition for our company, and makes us even hungrier to grab a few more Telly Awards to add to our collection.

Our local newspaper also did a nice feature on the company and the award we received. It's amazing how many people have commented on the article and congratulated us on the Award. It really makes all of our hard work worth it.

HB Arrows Unleashed S.1 Complete
Jan. 31, 2008 - The Rack Focus Post Studios, Midland, MI

-Jason BrownS.1_Cover.jpg

After more than two months in Post here at Rack Focus and two seasons of Field Production from the guys at Heartland Bowhunter, their first DVD Release is complete. Jeff, Preston and I spent almost 16 hours a day for three days putting the final touches on the Production here in the studio a week ago and I am very proud to finally put our stamp on this production.

It's never easy to pull all of the good pieces of footage out of two seasons and over 60 tapes and make a fluid theme and storyline, but I think we did it. Probably the biggest challenge we faced was working with the progression of video quality over the two seasons. From the start of the 2006 spring turkey season to the end of the 2007 campaign, the HB Team got a lot better from the field production side, as well as in front of the camera.

Of course, there is never a lack of drama when trying to reach deadlines. Between getting the cover art to the Replication people, overnighting the master copy three different times and finding out we needed to make a few small changes as well as trying to get 500 copies burned and packaged for the Harrisburg, PA show by the Feb. 1 release deadline, we found a way to get it done. To check out the DVD and get a copy of your own, follow the link.

Extreme Predator Hunting Adventures Vol. 1 Near Completion
Jan. 28, 2008 - The Rack Focus Post Studios, Midland, MI
-Jason Brown

extreme_logo.JPGOver the past year and a half, Jim Lombardi (owner of HuntersProstaff.com) and I have become pretty close friends. Our first project together was the DVD release - "Beginnings" from HPS. It was a project that was meant to "clean out the archives" so to speak. It featured footage from the past decade, long before his outdoor business was even thought of. Between the Prostaff members, a two hour DVD was completed and released. Although it was just the beginning in more ways than one, the feature really was an eye-opening experience to all of the Hunters Prostaff Team.

The Extreme Hunting Adventures Series from Extreme Dimensions Wildlife Calls will be releasing a number of features each year. Hunters Prostaff and Extreme Dimensions struck a partnership on the Extreme Predator Hunting Series last year and I believe this will be the leading Series for quality and Informative Predator Hunting in the industry today. The team of Jim Lombardi, Jed Speiser and Lyndon Branson carry the series with their knowledge, whit and sniper-like shooting. Rack Focus is proud to be a partner in this venture and look forward to the annual releases of Volume 1 and 2. Look to order your copy of this DVD Series next month at: www.huntersprostaff.com
